Department of Physical Therapy, NWIHS Hosts International Workshop

The Doctor of Physical Therapy (DPT) Department at Northwest Institute of Health Sciences, in collaboration with Ghani Physio, successfully conducted a One-Day International Workshop on “Manual Therapy of the Shoulder Complex.

This initiative was led by Dr. Subhan Ur Rehman Burki (PT), Principal NWIHS, and academically organized by Dr. Saba Khan (PT) and Dr. Tayyab Awan (PT) from the Academic Committee – DPT.

Renowned Physical Therapist Dr. Rasha Hossien from Cairo University played a pivotal role in the workshop, moderating the presentation and delivering hands-on practical skills to the students, enhancing their expertise in manual therapy techniques for the shoulder complex.

The workshop comprised comprehensive sessions focusing on both theoretical foundations and practical applications. These sessions included anatomy, biomechanics, and clinical dysfunctions of the shoulder complex, evidence-based principles of manual therapy, and clinical reasoning strategies. Participants also engaged in hands-on training, mastering joint and soft tissue mobilization techniques, advanced mobilization, muscle energy techniques, and clinical applications.

The Closing Ceremony featured the presentation of shields to the facilitator by Dr. Subhan Ur Rehman and Dr. Shafiq Ur Rehman.

A vote of thanks was delivered by Dr. Subhan Ur Rehman Burki (PT), and a group photograph was taken to commemorate the successful event. This academic initiative provided participants with valuable clinical insights, evidence-based knowledge, and practical expertise, thereby enriching their professional skills in musculoskeletal physiotherapy.
